Oberstdorf FIS Nordische Ski-WM 2005 webcam

View of Oberstdorf ski sport facilities, where FIS Nordic World Ski Championships took place on 16th - 27th of February 2005. In 1987, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships took place in Oberstdorf in the Allgäu region for the first time. On the 1st of June 2000, at the FIS Congress in Melbourne, Australia, Oberstdorf got the go-ahead from the International Ski Federation (FIS). In 1987, Marc Hodler, the FIS President at that time and Honorary President of today, described Oberstdorf as the »Holmenkollen of the Alps« due to the overwhelming atmosphere. In 2005, the Allgäu region once again wants to present the sports-interested world with an unforgettable winter sports event. The unique nature and landscape and the cordial hospitality of the Allgäu and its people will contribute to its success (FIS NORDIC SKI-WM 2005).
